All-season tyres main characteristics and pros and cons of using them

All-season tyres are a great option for those who live in a climate that doesn’t have a very cold winter. Those tyres are made to be specifically effective in a warmer environment. Basically, you can drive them at spring, summer, and fall type of weather. Now cold winter is something else. If in your area it is snowing heavily you must not use those tyres because they can get hardened and this will expose you to risk of having a car crash because of the less grip you are having on the winter roads.

All-season tyres can be very useful in other cases. If your climate is warmer and the winter is raining those tyres are perfect for you because they are closer to summer tyres than to winter which means they are working great on the wet roads. That’s exactly the reason why most cars are manufactured and sold with those tyres. It gives the buyers biggest range of protection when it comes to weather.

Since as we said all-season tyres are closer to summer tyres, while they are keeping you protected in the colder weather, they make less noise than the winter tyres. This ensures you get the best from both worlds.

The main reason why people prefer all-season tyres is because they are less expensive and they require less inconvenience when it comes to changing them. It does save you money since you are not required every 6 months or so to change from one season tyres to the other.

Why all-season tyres are not the best option for you

Before you go and buy all-weather tyres online let’s discuss why they might not be the best option. All-season tyres compared to seasonal tyres are losing when it comes to more extreme conditions. The reason is in order for them to be good for both sides they need to compromise on something which makes them not perfect for any particular season. This makes them ineffective if you would like to have maximum traction in the summer or be able to drive on snowy and icy roads in the winter.
